The Untold Story of Abysmal Voter Turnout

Do you find yourself sometimes lost in all the "Chaos" and "Disinformation Campaign" being pushed by so many in the media, so called conservative groups, and our government? Well there is an answer to all or most of what faces all of us today. Most of us see our "Freedoms" being lost and "Our Laws" not being obeyed. You look around and all you hear is how the Progressives are taking away everything we hold true. You, the citizens write your representatives and post on Facebook, Twitter and other Social media sites, about how upset you are over these losses. Yet what is that accomplishing?

It is surprising in many of the "Primary Elections" across the country  the voter turnout was  very low. Here in California, only a total of 18% of registered voters went to the "Voting Booth". It seems California was one of the states that had a high turnout, when looking at other states across the country.

Over the past  few years I have attended meeting after meeting. I see the same people show up and rarely see "New Faces". Which means we are not reaching out beyond our circle. I see a decrease of people I knew from 2010 rallies and meetings. They are no longer attending these meetings and getting involved, to help "Conservative Candidates"  get elected to all levels of office.

What is also surprising is that I don't see many people from other countries who have become US citizens.  To me this was really sad as most of these people stood up and became US Citizens for what?  I am not sure why they chose not to get involved. When you talk to them they came here for "Freedom" but are not willing to fight for it once here.

When we look at world events, there is trouble in the Middle East, Asia, etc. Countries across the globe are increasing their size of armed forces to protect their borders because they feel they cannot count on the U.S. to help them in the time of a crisis and have been told so by our state department which is using excuses of "High Debit" and "Reduction of Troop Levels".

In fact most people are missing the underlying problem of how to solve these issues. There is a way to solve them. Elect Constitutional & Fiscally principled representatives to all levels of government. But you ask yourself; how do I know these candidates are constitutional and fiscally principled? We have provided you with an organization that is a "Service to all these needs" and has a track record to prove it.

The current administration is using a very clever tactic in creating crisis after crisis on a daily basis to distract many of the voters from understanding what the "True Issues" are.  Remember when you were a kid and went to the County Fair? There was this guy that had you try to figure out which shell the peanut was under. Consequently, it was called the "Shell Game". This Administration and Congress are playing the same game with you today.

The bottom line is; when people don't participate fully in the electoral process, when they don't show up at the polls  and vote, nothing changes.  When principled candidates are unable to get elected to offices, none of the changes necessary to protect our freedoms or force compliance to our laws can occur.  If you want action to be taken, vote the Progressives on both sides of the aisle out of office.  The issues for these candidates to attain office aren't about money contrary to what most people will tell you.  It stops at lack of participation by the citizens.

No matter what your issue, nothing will change on domestic or foreign policy until this is done. In fact, things will probably get much worse and the loss of "Freedoms"  will increase. The power of Regimes that run countries across the world will have the power to "Crash" whatever restraints are placed and that appears much easier as time goes on.

For the past 238 years, America has been the "Shining City on The Hill"  ensuring that "Freedom Rings" in the "Heart and Minds of Mankind across the Globe"  So to those who say; I don't want to get involved in the "Political Game" or to those who are just not interested but are interested in changing their country back home, good luck. You more than likely will lose and nothing you want to change is going to.  By not voting you are handing Obama and the rest of the Progressives in government a gift and they are laughing all the way to the bank.

Lots of truth, but unfortunately you can’t force people to give a crap. All you can do is give them as much information as you can. Hopefully more will wake up and do the right thing.

Jerry is absolutely correct. This is one of the big mysteries. A majority of folks want freedom, but only it you serve it up on a platter for them. Getting out of their comfort zone in not an answer as far as they are concerned. And Darlene is spot on when she talks about evangelizing. Run your mouth…yes! Take a pocket constitution with you to give out on the spot! Nothing like the real thing to influence folks.

I’m sure most people reading this post know how important it is to vote in the primary and to take the progressives out there. As Dara says, this is to motivate us to get out and engage others. You are correct, Stephen, that even those who vote, often don’t know who the progressives are.

Here are some things we can do besides posting on social media:
Compare the candidates (voting records, interviews, whatever). Print up some copies and take them to patriot type meetings – amazing how many tea party people don’t know anything about the candidates. You can’t do it for all of the candidates, so start with races that have someone challenging a progressive, and don’t overlook city, township and county races – these are the people who will move up.
Volunteer with a group for phone banks. Here in Michigan, Americans for Prosperity are running phone banks six days a week. They are talking about the issues.
‘Adopt’ a conservative candidate and make calls, go door-to-door, organize a fund-raiser. Wear his or her t-shirt everyplace you go.
Run your mouth a lot. You don’t need to tell them to go vote or anything more than just a few remarks here and there. Some people will quickly change the subject, but others will start asking questions.
Become a precinct delegate or whatever it’s called where you live. We are the bottom of the list of candidates, yet we have a huge amount of power. The tea party precinct delegates in Michigan are close to taking over the Republican Party. (Of course, the ‘establishment’ keeps fighting back.)

I’m sure you can think of more; these are the things that I do. Will they make a difference? I don’t know. I do know that I have to try.

Stephen, This article addresses those involved in the political process yes. It is meant to spur them to action to involve others. As so many voters become upset with what they are seeing, now is the time to empower them and teach them. The issues most of them are upset about are not a Dem, Rep thing, but overall. The hope is in coming together to change the representation. The call to action is to step outside the choir and start bringing in those who have not been active at all. Even if it’s just through email or social media. At least they will get some truth that the media won’t give them and yes, we have proven the methods do work. I hope this brings you to a better understanding of what is meant. Thanks

Let me say that this post talks about voter despair, but offers little hope. This is a step up from calling it voter apathy which is a misnomer. The call to action is to vote out the progressives. This assumes that the average voter knows who is progressive and who is not. But the reality is the op-ed is writing to the 18% who did vote in California. So it is a fair message, but to the wrong audience. A better message would be to give this audience hope if they take an action now that will show results quickly. Then build on this with another action next week that again shows results.
