Open letter to GOP Leadership

Mr. Priebus and the leadership of the Republican Party;

We are writing on behalf of American voters who have simply had enough.  It is our task to say to you what you are refusing to hear from not only from average citizens of this great nation but also the business owners who are compelled to fund the shenanigans in Washington DC.  Make no mistake, before you dismiss this letter, understand that there is weight and merit behind it.  You need to hear what we hear every day.  This transcends Party, socio-economic, gender, and racial lines.

The American people are tired of Washington DC and the political power brokers who make their living by preserving the status quo.  They are tired of the political posturing and game playing that so many of you do.  This was the last chance for the Party that is supposedly “conservative” to show some backbone and prove to the American people that they mattered.  Unfortunately, both Parties once again failed the American people.  Sadly, It won’t be you in DC who suffer the consequences; it will be the citizens of this once great country who yet again bear the brunt of the failed policies and wasteful spending the political class continues to embrace.

It will be the American people who are bound by a law very few wanted because, as usual, the political class chose to ignore the will of the PEOPLE they represent.  It will be the American people who will be working part time now and who, as a result, will lose the ability to get the health coverage they need.  It will be the American people who will once again have to tighten their belts, lose their homes and struggle to feed their families.  This is the real HUMAN cost of your insidious policies...which, incidentally, none of you have to live by.  That is not posturing or demagoguery. It’s the truth.

It will be the very business owners who supplied you with the funds to run your campaigns who will be closing their doors.  It will be those business owners who, if they can weather the damages caused by Washington DC, will be forced to either lay off some of their workers or, at minimum, cut their hours and go through the costly process of training others to make up the same hours.  It will be those business owners who will have to pay all of the additional taxes contained in this health care law...on top of the tax rates that have already increased.  It is those business owners who will not be able to compete in a global market.

Aren’t you all so proud of yourselves for once again kicking workers and business owners to the curb?  For what?  To transfer wealth on a global basis?  What cuts were there to “foreign aid”? What cuts were there to the so-called “trade agreements” that have harmed our own GDP?

Let me ask you this: How do you ever expect any American to trust you again? If Republicans continue on the course of acquiescence, it won’t happen.

You just showed which side you are on and, by doing so, you may very well have ensured the decline and eventual demise of your own Party.  You ensured that Lincoln’s Party, the Party that abolished slavery, became the Party which ensured we are all enslaved to massive debt and counterproductive policies for the foreseeable future.

Congratulations to you all.

Here is the truth behind what you just did.  There is no “clean bill”.  Your alleged “compromise” just added over $1.2 Trillion to the spending for this year.  That yields, for 8 ½ months, a deficit of $422,685,000,000.00...and that doesn’t even include the draconian law known as the Affordable Care Act.  Add that to the current debt which just surpassed $17 Trillion.  Now, the debt ceiling has also been increased, so you can add even more to that and those numbers haven’t even come in yet.  Can anyone else please explain why we need to continue to borrow? Why it was so important to raise the debt ceiling to borrow even more money?

The manufactured crisis worked again, didn’t it?  It is absolutely unfathomable that same people who can’t figure out how to stop spending money we don’t have continue to think they are somehow smarter than average American citizens.

The American people elected conservative Representatives to Washington because they stood their ground on what was right for the citizens of this nation. So, what did many of you just do? You attacked and vilified them. You berated them for doing what was right, both constitutionally and economically.  They were listening. They were paying attention not to a minority of the country, but to a majority of the country...and a super majority of their constituents.  It is those citizens who sent them to Washington.  It is those citizens who saw through the manufactured crises and the calculated decisions made by the Administration to inflict maximum pain.  These citizens recognized this for what it was.  The Administration was directly responsible for each and every decision.  “We the People” understand exactly how things work in DC--clearly, they don’t--.and we believe you need a refresher course, taught by “us”,  on basic constitutional and common sense principles.

We keep hearing rhetoric about the last Presidential election being a referendum on Obamacare. You folks must have indulged in too much drinking at those DC fundraisers.  You lost in 2012, in part, because you propped up a candidate who was not conservative and who had put in place the state model of the Affordable Care Act.  As a result, many conservatives showed their displeasure by not working for the nominee or not voting at all. You also failed to prevent, expose or even discuss the election fraud that skewed the vote tallies...especially in swing states. Those stories are buried in blog posts or, if anyone in the mainstream media bothers to report them at all, on the back pages of newspapers.

Interestingly, the very Obama supporters (e.g. unions) who promoted the ACA are now complaining about its effects. Yet, you still don’t stand up...and you choose capitulation over education.  This was not  a “Tea Party” issue.  That is where the Beltway consultants, who are just as removed from the citizens as you are, have gotten it wrong.  Try speaking to people on the street like the rest of us and you might actually hear what the
people think instead of guessing based on skewed polling results.

This was the last chance. The people gave you the House so you could make a stand for THEM; instead, you told them exactly what you thought about them by making backroom deals that saddled them with more and more debt.  Newsflash: the PEOPLE pay the bills, your salaries included.  When they can no longer do so, you are all out of your jobs and will be in the same position as the rest of us. Under the tyranny of rules you can’t live by.  Good Luck with that.

Regardless of your Party affiliation, do not assume that you are safe in your positions any longer.  The citizens of this country are angry...and we’re coming to take our Country back. The elections in 2014 will be THE referendum for Democrats and Republicans alike. You now have two choices: Start listening to your “bosses” or start working on your resumes. You decide.

We appreciate both of your comments. Bill Starnes has submitted an article which may clear this up to a degree. We are hoping we will be able to have his article up shortly. We are pleased to see such debate from our members. Thank you both

Yes, sir, you are right and I agree. However, we must be historically accurate in every way in every communication. Again, to call the Republican party the party of lincoln and credit lincoln with ending slavery is historically inaccurate. Many people, hopefully, will have the opportunity to read our communications. When a Constitutional conservative, who has studied history and particularly US history, reads an article with historical inaccuracies, it may tend to dis-credit tthe entire article or call into question the authors credibility. If we want to be critical of anyone, the entire article will need to stand up to scrutiny. All I am saying, is 100% accuracy, or as close as we can get. I can assure you, there are many out there who know history. And many, such as myself, who will point out inaccuracies. That does not mean I do not comprehend the intent of the article. It is just to say, the entire article needs to be correct, including any historical references.

Bil; the whole intent of the article is about how the GOP has sold out the American public and how they refuse to stand up to the “Establishment and the Progressive Left”, staying focused on the issue at hand is the most important when develop a strategy and informing the members of how the GOP has thrown the “Conservative Movement” under the bus.

Jerry, you may want to revisit my post. I did not miss the whole point. Not at all. I commented that it was a mostly good post. That would indicate, mostly, agreement. I was by no stretch of the imagination playing with history. I was simply stating a truth. Furthermore, I stand by what I said 100%. You have missed my point. Anytime I see lincoln being creditied with freeing the slaves, I respond based on accurate historical facts. Worse yet, when I see anyone referring to the gop as the party of lincoln, I am deeply concerned that anyone would want to affiliate the Republican party of today, or any other party, with lincoln. There is a very true saying, anyone who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it. To learn from history, one must learn the truth of history. lincoln was the most un-Constitutional president ever, including the current tyrant in the White House. And I can assure you, I am very focused on the events of today. I am very much involved in the struggle to save our Nation by getting us back to a principled, Constittutional Republic. To me, any time anyone posts historical inaccuracies, it hurts what we are trying to accomplish. Therefore, I put time and energy into correcting the mis-statements. I am firmly convinced that presenting only true facts of history enhances our credibility. That, my friend, is most assuredly a positive result.

Bill, sorry to say you have missed the whole point of the letter. It is not about the GOP. It is about how both parties and special interests are selling out the American public. And forcing us into a Communist type of system. Try staying on track to the subject at hand into days issues and not playing with history events of the past and try putting your energies into a structured event that provides positive results.

Mostly, a good post. However, to credit the party of lincoln with ending slavery reveals a complete lack of knowledge on that subject. The author needs to do INDEPENDENT research on what led to that particular war. He will find lincoln was an absolute tyrant and a war criminal.
