The Texas Primary is being held hostage while the courts adjudicate complaints brought by Attorney General Eric Holder and several minority advocacy groups. The April 3 date now looks out of reach; it will likely slip to at least April 17 or as late as June.
As the entire process is held up for candidates, state and county election officials, and party conventions at the precinct, county and state levels as well as the voters, the danger of losing our voice looms placing an undue burden upon us all.
By working to ensure that conservative win at the ballot box, Texas iCaucus continues sharing our vision of restoring government to its proper role. Tea Party organizers and conservative group leaders are rallying the troops all across Texas to put forward Constitutional conservative candidates with the aid of the iCaucus process.
Jeff and Tammy Keys - Texas iCaucus: Our perspective
We recently moved to Texas from California and are thrilled at being a part of the new Austin iCaucus. Our move to Texas was based on their economic and political views. At first we were disappointed to not find the large supportive iCaucus group we knew and loved in San Diego, however we have realized the opportunities and wonderful challenges that lie before us here. Texans seem to be more independent thinkers and not necessarily joiners, they like to hold it close to their hearts and do it alone. Some might call it stubborn; I'd like to think of it as conviction of their ideals and beliefs. They are not about to change it on a whim. This is a wonderful opportunity for iCaucus to bring in people of good faith, strong moral fiber with great political resolve on their candidates. While not yet fully organized here we can help bring Texans to understand the iCaucus vetting methods and candidate support it has to offer. We look forward to the challenge.
We have a lot of good things going for us in Virginia. We have a strong Tea Party organization which has the power to make a difference in the political landscape in the Commonwealth. They have shown their ability over the last several years to make a major difference in the legislative agenda in the state. They have managed to get several major pieces of legislation passed, one of which is a amendment to the State Constitution to protect property rights, by reigning in emanate domain abuses. This amendment is going through it's last phases in the legislative session and barring any setbacks, will be put before the voters this fall.
We also have several races that can be interesting in this race. Our formerly endorsed candidate here in Virginia Chuck Smith is running again for 3rd district, against Congressman Bobby Scott. In addition to him there are several other challengers running against sitting Congressional Representatives of the Commonwealth, in primaries or the general election. The big news of course is that we have a very contested Senate Seat in 2012, since Senator Webb decide to retire after one term. The Republican Party has several people running for the nomination, most notably former Senator and Governor George Allen and Former Tea Party Leader Jamie Radtke. This is not to discount Delegate Bob Marshall, a member of the Virginia house that has worked with the Tea Party in the past, entering the race in January, along with E.W Jackson and David McCormick. That gives us a total of five candidates that need to be vetted, so that we can pick the best one to run against Former Governor and DNC Chair Tim Kaine.
That is where the hold up is regarding what is going on here in the Commonwealth, as far as iCaucus is concerned. We need a leadership team to facilitate the vetting process. After 2010, we reviewed what worked and what did not, and we made changes to the process. Our hope by making these changes based on our experience is that we will make it easier on that leadership to conduct the vetting, and give all involved a better experience. We have also opened up the vetting process so that the various Tea Party groups around the state, can work with us and allow their members to participate in the process.
Please contact me or the national leadership team if you are interested in finding out more about how you can get involved. iCaucus Info
