Kansas Governor Sam Brownback received a letter dated April  26, 2013 from Attorney General Eric Holder concerning recently passed Kansas Senate Bill SB 102, the Second Amendment Protection Act.

I don't know about you, but I have had my fill of political correctness versus our First Amendment! What is with an elected official that apologizes to our enemies when our embassies are overrun by religious thugs in foreign countries? Our ambassador is murdered in Libya and his body is carried through the streets. Our embassy in Cairo is bombed and breached and there is more bloodshed. What does our President do? He apologizes to those thugs for an unfortunate movie that was made by the same pastor who burned a Koran a year ago. He apologizes! Never mind that the apology was recanted today. The damage has been done.

Yes, a movie generated all of the hate that moved our administration’s beloved Muslim Brotherhood to call for the havoc wreaked in the Middle East in the last two days. And they are still calling for more of the same. Never mind that Americans didn’t storm any embassies in our own country when our flag was flushed down a toilet by Islamic extremists. But, just let one person in our country create a movie that criticizes the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the result is an area of the world on a rampage against America. Was the movie a good idea? Most assuredly, the production of the movie right now was probably not a politically good idea. Do I think that the pastor had a right to his free speech? Yes, I do. I also think, however, that he should have put a bit more prayer into finding a way to express his thoughts.

That having been said, just who is orchestrating the violence in the Middle East? Let’s take a closer look. Last year when so many supported the Arab Spring in the Middle East, our administration was agog about democracy spreading through that volatile world. Were we really so naïve? Sure! There was going to be love, freedom, and spring flowers popping up everywhere! Instead, our own administration helped to move the Muslim Brotherhood into power in Egypt, strengthening that organization’s support around the Muslim world.

In truth, our current administration is proving to be even weaker than the Jimmy Carter administration of 33 years ago, and now the situation in our country, and in the world, is even more dangerous. Iran teeters on the brink of producing its own nuclear warhead, our dollar weakens in America, the Euro struggles for respect, the Chinese and Russians move stealthily under the waters off our shores, and Iran has established an agreement to build a military base in Venezuela.

Where are our leaders? Well, I know that the President of our United States is too busy campaigning to even attend a security briefing! I am sure that our Secretary of State is busy somewhere trying to decimate our 2^nd Amendment, and, of course, the DOJ is busy dancing around the truth of arming our enemies below our borders! Let’s not forget that our U.S. Attorney General has made monumental strides to paint conservatives and Christians as terrorists. Yes, we are in really good shape, friends!

Thank God for the brave members of iCaucus who have worked so hard to find good, decent citizens, who love and support our Constitution, to run for local, state, and federal offices in the election of 2012. We need strong leadership again. We need fearless leaders at the helm again. We need more people who will fight this battle with us! Let’s pray that it’s not too late and that we persevere on November 2^nd! If you are lucky enough to have an iCaucus-endorsed candidate to support, I hope you put on your walking shoes and get out the vote. If you aren’t that lucky, then ask your candidates all of the hard questions, and then give your support to the ones who stand strong for our Constitution and smaller government.

iCaucus has a rich, but short history that has included many unsung heroes who were willing to put their integrity and character on the line for a cause they believe in -- restoring our once-great nation to Constitutional authority and stopping the slide into tryanny.  As always we need to stand on character and integrity and speak the Truth!
